Metal Commercial/Warehouse Retrofit

Design No. C3B (roof), C3C (wall)

Metal Commercial/Warehouse Retrofit

Fixing AIR-CELL® to the underside of purlins or inside of girts:-

  1. Roll out rolls with the woven scrim side facing down.
  2. Fix to the purlins or girts using 12g x 25mm Tek screws or similar.
  3. Use 4 screws across the width of the roll at each purlin or girt, with one 25mm from each edge and the other two at approx. 430mm centers.
  4. For neatest finish, butt joins rolls and tape joins with 72mm reinforced aluminium tape. Alternatively, roll s can be overlapped by 50mm and taped as above.
  5. At connections between purlin, or girt, and frame cut a slot in the AIR-CELL® to allow it to pass over or behind the frame.
  6. Neatly cut AIR-CELL® around penetrations and tape if necessary.
  7. Reveal skylights by lining beneath, as for roof, and then cut down the center and diagonally to the corners forming flaps. Curl these flaps back under the roof to reveal the skylight and fix in position by taping or otherwise.

These instructions are guidelines only and should be interpreted with consideration for the specific building design. This installation of AIR-CELL® should be in conformance with the applicable clauses from AS 3999 and AS/NZS 4200.2 unless otherwise specified.

AIR-CELL® can be damaged by intense heat above 135˚ C and contact with sparks and flame from blow torches, welders, cutting tools, etc. must be avoided.

The installer must make due provision for safety when installing AIR-CELL® in any application.

Handling and Storage
AIR-CELL® Insulation products must be transported in its protective packaging and kept clean and dry. Standing rolls on end reduces risk of damage should moisture be present in the packaging. Surfaces must be kept free of contaminants such as dust and grease, and must not be stored with foil surfaces in contact with alkaline materials i.e. wet cement, lime, etc.
